Native American Group Releases Ad To Show What Football Would Be Like Without ‘Redskins’ Name

An online ad released Friday hopes to show what a Washington game would be like without the Redskins mascot.

“Take It Away,” created by the National Congress of American Indians as part of the Change the Mascot campaign, features Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III running 76 yards for a touchdown before a delirious crowd in 2012. But the Redskins logo on his helmet has been digitally removed in the broadcast clip and there is no mention of the team name.

A 2014 poll indicated that the majority of fans do not think Washington should change its name.
