An elderly California woman who tried to sever her husband’s penis in 2011 won’t see any time behind bars.
Virginia Valdez, 72, of Palm Springs, was sentenced Friday to three years of probation and 420 hours of community service as part of a plea deal she signed in December, according to the Desert Sun. As part of the agreement, she confessed to felony assault with a deadly weapon, a charge that could have landed her in jail for up to nine years.

In addition to her sentence, Virginia Valdez was slapped with a 10-year restraining order.
