‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Tampon Scene Cut From Movie

The most talked-about scene from the book version of “Fifty Shades Of Grey” will not be included in the movie. Yes, that tampon scene — the one where Christian removes Ana’s tampon before having sex — will not be seen on the big screen, according to the film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson. “It didn’t make it into the movie,” she told Variety. “It was never even discussed.”

The movie will, of course, include some of the novel’s notorious sex scenes, including the couple’s first night in the Red Room of Pain. Taylor-Johnson worked with screenwriter Kelly Marcel to make the raunchier scenes work visually. “On the early draft, there was a sense that there was way too much sex,” she said in the interview. “The story, of course, is of equal importance. We tried to balance the narrative correctly, so one doesn’t feel like it’s drowning the other. It’s the buildup that’s interesting. I feel that in movies, the minute there’s penetration, it’s all over.”
