Malaysia court upholds sodomy conviction against opposition leader

A Malaysian court upheld the conviction of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim on a charge of sodomy, the national news agency reported.

Anwar, 67, was acquitted of sodomy in January 2012, but the Court of Appeal overturned that decision in March 2014, ruling that he was guilty.

The Federal Court rejected Anwar’s appeal of that decision on Tuesday, according to Bernama.
