Momofuku Milk Bar Pops Up

To Sip: New Hot Drinks From a Pop-Up

A pop-up version of the Momofuku Milk Bar opens Feb. 2 at the southern end of Madison Square Park. Along with the usual Milk Bar sweets, like compost cookies, corn cookies and crack pie, a couple of new hot drinks will make their debut: cereal milk hot chocolate, made with white chocolate, is rich and mellow, and hot apple cider is thickened and made more complex with miso butterscotch. An end date for the stand, which has a rustic cabin look, has not been decided: Special hot drinks are $4, Milk Bar stand, Madison Square Park between 23rd and 24th Streets, no phone, milkbarstore.com .

American food trucks will serve lobster rolls and burgers at Expo Milano 2015, a world’s fair with nearly 150 countries participating that opens in May and runs through October just outside Milan. The theme is food — feeding the planet — which is a first for a world’s fair. The United States pavilion will have a 7,200-square-foot working vertical farm. There will also be a James Beard Foundation-sponsored restaurant in downtown Milan, where a roster of about 50 chefs, including Rick Bayless, Tom Colicchio, Daniel Humm, Marc Murphy, Barbara Lynch and the White House chef, Cris Comerford, will cook on a rotating basis. And to showcase iconic American meals, a Thanksgiving menu will be served every Thursday; and on Sundays, brunch: usapavilion2015.net.

An earlier version of this article referred imprecisely to the opening date for the Momofuku Milk Bar pop-up stand. It will open on Monday, Feb. 2.
