North Korea Says It Has Tested New Antiship Missile

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea said Saturday that its leader Kim Jong-un had overseen the test-firing of a new antiship missile, weeks before planned joint military exercises by South Korea and the United States that Pyongyang has protested.

North Korea has repeatedly proposed talks in recent months with the United States and South Korea, but both countries have accused Pyongyang of lacking sincerity.
