In a Jan. 5 article for Salon, author and U.S. Naval Academy professor Bruce Fleming laid out arguments for his controversial point: military academies, in their current iteration, no longer serve a purpose.
Fleming joined a HuffPost Live conversation Tuesday about such academies, telling host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani that these schools’ low admission standards and exorbitant taxpayer price make them useless today. Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer (Ret.) also joined the discussion, which you can catch above.
