What are the most dangerous household cleaners on the market? According to green living expert and author Alexandra Zissu, do to patent laws, the actual formulas of household cleaning products are protected, so it’s hard to know what exactly is in each product. One surefire way to know that a cleaning product is not safe to be used in your home? A skull and crossbones warning, which signifies that the product is poisonous. Avoid products that contain ammonia or chlorine as well. Find an eco-friendly replacement by going to an organic grocery store, and pay attention to what’s written on each label!
