What’s Really Behind The ‘American Sniper’ Controversy?

Clint Eastwood’s “American Sniper” has audiences asking lots of questions. For example: Is the film a piece of war propaganda? Should real-life sniper Chris Kyle actually be considered a hero? Why did anyone think it was a good idea to use a fake baby in this scene?

Rolling Stone’s Matt Taibbi labeled the film “too dumb to criticize,” but its record-breaking box office proves “Sniper” is connecting with audiences. What’s behind all the controversy? HuffPost Live’s Ricky Camilleri posed that question on Wednesday to a panel including The Wrap founder Sharon Waxman, Variety chief film critic Scott Foundas, Hollywood & Fine film critic Marshall Fine and former sniper Frank Galli.
