Artist Uses Muslim Superhero To Battle Anti-Islam Bus Ads

Sometimes it takes a superhero to conquer hate.

Earlier this month, a batch of anti-Islam ads purchased by right-wing extremist blogger Pamela Geller’s American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) appeared on buses in San Francisco. The ads equate Islam with Nazism, featuring a photo of Adolf Hitler and Haj Amin al-Husseini, an anti-Zionism Muslim leader, with the words “Islamic Jew-Hatred: It’s In The Quran,” according to the SFGate. They call for the end of all aid to Islamic countries.

While the outlet notes the ads are protected by freedom of speech, an anonymous artist is changing the theme from one of hatred to love.

AFDI’s anti-Muslim ads have been around since 2010. Groups have been attempting to stamp them out for nearly just as long.
