MILAN — Something has shifted in Milan.

For decades the Italian fashion world was shaped by the oppositional influence of two poles: sex and the cerebellum. Their tension informed the aesthetic narrative of the country, and of fashion week. Armani vs. Versace; Umberto Eco vs. Sophia Loren; Prada vs. Gucci; Silvio Berlusconi vs. Mario Draghi — you know how this goes.

Well, no longer.
