John Boehner: DHS Shutdown ‘Would Be Bad,’ But It Could Happen

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he couldn’t rule out a possible shutdown at the Department of Homeland Security.

The AP reports Boehner said it “would be bad” if the DHS shuts down when it runs out of funding on Feb. 27. He again encouraged the Senate to pass legislation that would fund the department, reiterating what he said on Wednesday.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday that the House-passed bill was “stuck” and asked the House to come up with a plan B.
