A field training accident on the Marine base in Twentynine Palms in Southern California left as many as two dozen people with inhalation related injuries on Thursday evening, fire officials said.
The extent of the injuries were unknown, but an official with the base told NBC News that no one had died. Information of who exactly was injured was not immediately available. A desk sergeant at the base said that it appeared there was an extinguisher explosion during a large-scale, combined arms exercise, NBC San Diego reported.
