It has to be this year, because I’m 71 and it’s not going to get any easier to do it as I get older. I don’t know how long I have — none of us do. But it’s more work getting my body ready than I expected it to be. I initially thought, ‘Oh, this is going to be a piece of cake,’ since I’ve been working out at the Y for years with my husband. But the first time we went out and did a 15-mile hike, I came back really, really tired and sore and realized that I had a bit of work to do. I think the older we get, the more work we have to do to be able to do this. But I’m confident my body can do it.”
