Laura Niklason is a professor of Anesthesia and Biomedical Engineering at Yale. She is an expert in vascular biology and cardiovascular tissue engineering–meaning she can essentially grow arteries and other tissues in her lab. Her team even successfully engineered rat lungs and transplanted them into rats. She talked to us about her incredible work for our latest installment of “Genius.”
