It’s one thing to teach others about reducing stress, and another to take your own advice. After struggling with the latter, Jan Bruce stepped back to co-author meQuilibrium: 14 Days to Cooler, Calmer and Happier, and she joined HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani today to discuss her new favorite tips for dealing with daily stress.
“One of the first steps that we teach people is a skill that I call ‘trap it, map it, zap it,'” said Bruce. “Throughout the day, things happen that make us highly emotional and highly reactive. And emotions are often a really good barometer for when we’re starting to get stressed — I mean negative emotions like anger, anxiety and frustration. This skill helps you get in control of your emotions.”
