But Curry was forced off “Today” in June 2012, one year after she was appointed to the co-host chair alongside Matt Lauer. Her painful sign-off exacerbated problems at “Today,” and the show soon found itself stuck in second place in the morning show ratings race behind ABC’s “Good Morning America,” where it remains to this day.
