In the latest installment of his “New Father Chronicles” video series, dad La Guardia Cross is observing Black History Month. Titled “His Father Left, My Father Stayed — My Black Father History,” Cross’ newest video tells the story of his dad’s heartbreaking and inspiring experiences with fatherhood.
“We all know the stereotypes that surround black fathers, so I wanted to tell the story of a dad who never left,” Cross told The Huffington Post. He added, “A dad who met his own father for the first and last time 12 years ago. A dad who didn’t know he had several brothers and sisters. My dad, La Guardia Cross Sr. Despite not knowing his own biological father, he made sure I knew mine.”
