Sky-high prices during Superstorm Sandy led to Uber’s current policy. The New York Attorney General’s office negotiated the policy with Uber, and said the company agreed to “limit prices during “abnormal disruptions of the market”typically, emergencies and natural disastersconsistent with New York’s price gouging statute.”
